Point Clear Alabama
Point Clear is a popular destination on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay. The basis of this popularity (that dates back to Point Clear's development in the 1840s) is tranquility. Point Clear Historic District features over two dozen homes that were built between 1835 and 1930. These homes can be seen from the public promenade that runs along the bayside. One Victorian home built in 1897 is the operational base of Punta Clara Candy Kitchen, a family owned business that offers handmade sweets.

A major Point Clear attraction is the Marriott Grand Hotel Golf Club & Spa Resort. This resort was once a Confederate hospital, a garrison for Alabama's 21st Infantry and also a training site for Marines during World War II. This restored facility is now a part of the Robert Trent Jones Collection Resorts. The spa has been ranked the best among Marriott hotels.
