Augusta Georgia is the home of the prestigous Masters® Golf Tournament. Bronze sculptures of golf legends Bobby Jones, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus are on display at Georgia Hall of Fame's Botanical Gardens in Augusta. In addition to Edgefield pottery and local history, the Augusta Museum of History contains memorabilia from the Masters® Golf Tournament. Neighboring cities Aiken and Columbia South Carolina help to accommodate the golf lovers who journey to Augusta National Golf Club for this master golfing event.

Augusta's public golf course, Goshen Plantation is one of twenty-four public golf courses that demonstrate the prominent place of golf in Georgia's Classic South region. Public golf courses in nearby Evans, Thomson and Lincoln County Georgia help to supply the region with ample golf courses to satisfy the public's thirst for this sport.

Augusta, called the Garden City of the South, is Georgia's second largest city. The Savannah River runs through the city, giving Augusta visitors an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing stroll along the bank of the river to the amphitheater named for famed opera singer and Augusta native, Jessye Norman. Visitors can also canoe the Savannah River or its adjacent canal. Phinizy Swamp Nature Park
